Moving Day Checklist

Moving day goes smoother when you prepare in advance. Use this checklist to stay on track.

The night before

• Confirm your moving window with the crew
• Pack an essentials bag (chargers, medications, snacks, toiletries)
• Defrost the refrigerator if you are taking it with you
• Label boxes by room and note fragile items clearly

Morning of the move

• Clear walkways and protect floors in high-traffic areas
• Do a final sweep of closets, attic, garage, and storage units
• Keep payment and ID accessible, but secure valuables on your person
• Take photos of electronics setup before disconnecting cables

Before the truck leaves

• Walk through every room with your checklist
• Test faucets, lights, and appliances if they stay with the home
• Leave keys and access instructions as agreed with the new occupants or agent

After arrival

• Check major furniture and labeled boxes first
• Set up beds and essentials before unpacking everything else
• Report any concerns to your mover while the crew is still on site
